Memoirs of Acacia

I've been traveling for as long as I can remember. In university, I spent semesters in Athens, Greece and Dublin, Ireland. I spent several years backpacking Europe, Australia, Asia, and South America. I'm now based in New York editing travel content at Lonely Planet.

I am particularly passionate about how travel can be a force for good. While the social and environmental impacts will always exist, it is our responsibility as travelers and journalists to care for the planet and local communities. This means choosing sustainable accommodations, supporting local business, and generally being mindful.

There's no such thing as being a perfect traveler, but we can work together to find a version that is meaningful and positive for everyone.

These are my stories. Yours are still out there.
